About Us
Hank's Pet Lodge is family owned and operated by Pat and Sherry Barker along with their daughter Michaela Gardner and husband, Cody. Michaela grew up with a love for all animals and knew she wanted a career
that included the care of animals. During her high school years, she had the opportunity to work at a dog/cat boarding facility for two years. During her time there, she realized this was truly her passion and one day dreamed to open her very own facility. During her senior year of high school and preparing for college, choosing an education path in animal care was the direction to achieve her dream. To prepare, gain knowledge, and experience, she attended Indiana Business College in Indianapolis, Indiana, and received a degree as a Veterinary Technician. Soon after graduation, she passed the state board exam to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. In 2015, Michaela started working at a Veterinary Hospital. She worked at the hospital for two years. She loved her job.  Every day she gained more and more experience in animal care and handling. In 2017, to gain experience running a small business, Michaela started working for her family’s construction business as the office manager. She worked for B&B Construction for two years. In 2019, the planning began to open the boarding facility. Naming the facility, Michaela’s first fur baby was Hank. Hank was a border collie that stole her heart right away. He was very special to all the family. Hank loved running around the family farm and playing with the other animals.  He brought so much joy to all of us. Unfortunately, Hank became very sick at a young age. After numerous tests and recommended treatments, our family had to make the unimaginable decision to let Hank rest in peace. The facility was named in honor of Hank. His legacy and precious memories will live forever at the Lodge.

Boarding Pick-up and Drop-off:
Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM & 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays (Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Day) : 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM
